"ACCATTONI" – An Italian Dinner

In order to support the "Ground Tour" – an excursion to the alternative cultural world of Italy, apart from its immense classical heritage – the Social Design students organized an Italian dinner at our Studio on Wednesday, October 26th 2016.

The dinner is the first of a series of dinners to promote, discuss and fund projects led within the frame of the Master Programme Social Design – Arts as Urban Innovation.

The Italien dinner served our guests with a four-course menu, freely inspired by different regions in Italy. The dinner was accompanied by musical contributions of the violincellist Adam Carmicheal, as well as by the Duo Dj Brigitte Brutale & Vj Babalucio. After dinner and conversations, we invited our guest to join us at the bar and dancefloor in support of the "Ground Tour".

The "Ground Tour" is a journey starting in Vienna, arriving in Rome, touching ground in the way to the shore of the Venice Lagoon. The "Ground Tour" will grind assumptions about Italian culture. It will lead off the beaten tracks and show other faces of a contemporary. The "Ground Tour" depicts an Italy where art and radical forms of politics go hand in hand to look for new solutions in a society with urgent needs and high potential of conflict. On the "Ground Tour" contacts and networks among artists, activists and institutions will be created and strenghtened. For social change is only happening across given national borders.
