Just Around your Corner
Andrea Navarrete Rigo, Joanna Zabielska
Just Around your Corner deals with the question of how public space can be used. By encouraging inhabitants to squad the streets in front of their houses with chairs, tables and a cozy athmosphere, we want to counteract common tendencies of privatization and the rising surveillance of public space as well as the pressure of permanent consumption.

The aim of our project is to make side street more lively. We wish to bring more social interaction on the doorstep, some sort of an Italian lifestyle. Get people out of their private apartments, balconies, rooftops or gardens to the public ground and open the possibility of new interactions.
We wish to escape capitalist patterns. But our way!
We want to hang around our corners instead of heading to the city centre. We are having a coffee, lunch or beer in a reasonable price, without the need of consuming in the restaurant, bar or coffee house. Instead of following the overwhelming speed of modern lifestyle and it’s necessity of constant consumption, we want to step back and relax. We are making a change by using the street and enjoying it.
