Exploration of the “Closely Unknown”

Program invented and hosted by Social Design first-year students

While digital encounters dominated Social Design Studio’s everyday life, by December 2020 it was time to escape digital virtuality and get out there into real spaces of imagination. Social Design Studio explored open sites and places in fresh air in and around Vienna — close but and maybe therefore quite unknown. Students conceptualized explorations ranging from guided tours to lunch at an urban farm, getting lost in a foggy heath, feasting at the cemetery, climbing Wienerberg, and bonfire talks in a quarry.
